In the interview to the state-run media, Ambassador Milan Bacevic emphasized that Serbia and China shared the tragedy of NATO bombing, during which the Chinese friends chose to stay in Belgrade. This time without fear of virus, Serb are standing by the Chinese side.
“Serbia is a small country, but a big friend of China, ready to help in any possible way within its capabilities”. That was also the message of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to Chinese President Xi Jinping. As a gesture of solidarity, the visit of the Frist Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic last week marked the first visit of a foreign minister to China ever since the outbreak of epidemic. By the decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the aid consisted of medical and technical supplies will be sent to China and it is expected to arrive soon.
The ambassador said that Serbia has great admiration for the efforts being made by the Chinese authorities to mobilize resources and forces at all levels to combat the epidemic thus demonstrating superior leadership, high level of awareness and discipline of its people in the crucial moment. In the same time, in parallel with the fight against the epidemic, it is making maximum efforts to preserve the stability and sustainability of economic development. The strong connection and the level of trust between the Chinese people and authorities, as well as between the ordinary citizens, entrepreneurs and the leadership is telling us that China, will very quickly return to fulfilling its developmental goals, after final battle against the epidemic and compensate every setback caused by the force of circumstances.
Responding to the journalist’s question on his views of cooperation between China and international community in joint fight against epidemic, as well as of management of information, the ambassador said that China makes great efforts in strengthening cooperation on regional and global level, delivers information timely and coordinates its policies and recourses with other countries and WHO that shows its solidarity and empathy in this joint combat against epidemic.
