CHINA'S ACCESSION TO THE HAGUE CONVENTION OF ABOLISHING THE REQUIREMENT OF LEGALISATION FOR FOREIGN PUBLIC DOCUMENTS |
On 8 March 2023, the Chinese Government submitted the instrument of accession to the Hague Convention of Abolishing the requirements of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as the competent authority. In accordance with the provisions of the "Convention", on November 7, 2023, the "Convention" entered into force in the People's Republic of China. Started from November 7, 2023, public documents will be legalized with the seal of Apostille. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China is the competent authority for issuing the Apostille clause on documents issued in the People's Republic of China. Relevant local government services authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China may issue an Apostille clause in their administrative region |
