Visit of Ambassador Maja Stefanovic to Luzhou

The 22nd China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo was held in Luzhou, China, from March 27-30. at which Serbia was the guest of honor. During her stay in Luzhou, on the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Stefanovic met with Party Secretary and Mayor of Luzhou.

At the opening ceremony of the EXPO on March 27, Party Secretary of Luzhou Liu Xiaoliu, President of the China Alcoholic Beverages Association Song Shuyu, and, in the capacity of representative of the guest country of honor Ambassador Stefanovic gave speeches.

Ambassador Stefanovic emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and China, especially in the light of the 70th anniversary of the friendship between the peoples of Serbia and China, as well as the importance of cooperation at the level of provinces and local self-governments, where cooperation with Sichuan Province and the city of Luzhou have significant potential. She pointed out that Serbia was honored by the invitation to be the guest of honor at the Fair, which is a great opportunity to represent our country.

After the opening ceremony of the Expo, the opening ceremony of the National Pavilion of the Republic of Serbia took place, where, in the organization of Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, variety of products were presented by 16 companies from Serbia.

Ambassador Stefanovic underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and China, highlighted the high significance of the recent meeting of President Vučić and Chinese President Xi Jinping during his second visit to Serbia, with confidence in the further comprehensive development of our relations at all levels. In this context, she conveyed readiness for the development of cooperation with Sichuan Province and the city of Luzhou and extended invitations to the Party Secretary and Mayor of Luzhou to visit Serbia. Ambassador informed the gathering on the production capacities of the alcohol industry in the Republic of Serbia, the benefits offered by the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and China.
