Ambassador Stefanovic participated in the meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)
At the meeting a new president of the bank Zou Jiaji was elected by acclamation. Representatives from 100 countries participated in the jubilee meeting, including the Governors of the Russian Federation, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UK, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Mongolia. At the opening ceremony the participants were addressed by Premier of China Li Qiang.
During the short exchange on the sidelines with President Zou, Ambassador Stefanovic conveyed the congratulations of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Serbian Governor of the AIIB Siniša Mali and invited Ms. Zou to visit the Republic of Serbia, which she gladly accepted.
President Zou's five-year term begins on January 16, 2026.
Former Minister of Finance, Zou Jiaji has more than three decades of experience in Chinese financial and regulatory institutions. Previously, she represented China as Deputy Governor at the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and New Development Bank. She played a key role in the establishment of AIIB and contributed to its work and development.
