Deputy Prime Minister R. of Serbia and Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic paid an official visit to China from September 7 to 15 when, besides Beijing, he also visited Lianjungang where he participated in the Global Forum for Cooperation in Public Security, as well as Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Cong.
During his stay in Beijing DPM Dacic met with State Counselor and Minister of Public Security of China Wang Xiaohong on September 8. During the meeting both sides agreed on the further improvement of security cooperation, along the lines of the agreement of President of Serbia A. Vučić and President of China Xi Jinping, which serve as guidelines for the further development of bilateral relations, with a special emphasis on strengthening exchanges at a high level. Special attention in the talks was devoted to the importance of law enforcement and deepening cooperation between law enforcement authorities in key areas such as migration management, combating the crime of telecommunications fraud and the fight against terrorism.
During his visit to Lianjungang, DPM Dacic participated in the Global Forum for Cooperation in Public Security, which was attended by more than 2,100 participants from 122 countries, regions and international organizations. DPM Dačić, in his speech at the Global Forum Conference, expressed the readiness of Ministry of Interior of Serbia to support the development of the Global Security Initiative, emphasized the commitment of Serbia to the development of international cooperation in the field of public security in order to preserve the safety of citizens and business activities in Serbia. Further more he reiterated Serbia's firm determination to provide a full contribution to stability in the region and in the world. He also gave an overview of cooperation between Serbia and China in the field of public security, including the joint police patrols of the two countries, which serve as a significant example of our successful cooperation. On the sidelines of the Conference, DPM Dacic had bilateral meetings with Interpol President A. N. Al Raisi and deputy Minister of Interior of Turkey M. Salami.
During his stay in China, DPM Dacic also met with the mayor of Guangzhou, the deputy mayor and director of the Public Security Bureau of Guangzhou, and the deputy governor and director of the Police Service of Guangdong Province.
During his visit to Guangdong Province, together with the Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Deputy Governor and Director of the Police Service of Guangdong Province, DPM Dacic attended the final exercise of Serbian and Chinese police units in Guangzhou, after which paid a visit to the police officers from Serbia who together with Chinese police officers, participate in joint patrols in China.
During his visit to Hong Kong SAR, DPM Dacic met with Hong Kong Chief Executive Li Kachiu and Commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong SAR Cui Jianchun.
